Qshan Deya Kente Fashion

Kente fabric is one of the colorful fabrics of African origin. The symbolic patterns, weave structure and contextual communicative power makes kente more than just cloth.

Kente is more than just cloth. It is an iconic visual representation of the history, philosophy, ethics, oral literature, social values and political thought of West Africa. Kente is exported as one of the key symbols of Afican heritage and pride in African ancestry.

The Kente cloth received its name from the term "kenten", which means "basket", because of the cloth´s woven design. Each Kente pattern was unique and had its own name. Weavers used vibrant colors and complex designs to portray the cloth´s profound philosophical meaning.
